One-of-a kind pillow made from gently laundered vintage and upcycled fabric with hidden zipper closure.
Front of the pillow is screen printed cotton in memory of John F. Kennedy and Liberia 1966. This fabric has a beautiful story that still has an unknown ending.
The fabric was a 4th birthday present for the granddaughter of a WI couple who sponsored a man from Liberia to come to the U.S. and attend university to earn a masters in Social Sciences. The man was from Monrovia, Liberia and sent the fabric as a gift in thanks for their support. He said women in Liberia made their clothing with such honorary fabric and may be they would like to make some for their granddaughter. The man from Liberia became a professor at the University in Monrovia. This was many years ago and there were several correspondents back and forth, but eventually the family in WI lost touch due to the uprisings and political conflict in Liberia. The fabric was purchased at an estate sale and the family provided this information.
Backing is a neutral linen with Sarah Lois™ woven label.
